MARRIED TO A BITCH Character Introductions
Dennis JensenDennis is 21 and 5’10. He is bald by choice but normally has light brown hair. He has a short beard and mustache, green eyes, and a muscular build. He works with his hands as a school bus mechanic year round (with a summer job as an amusement park ride operator), but he also works out twice a week. His goal in life is to go to college (once he has saved up enough money to pay for it) and become a game ranger for the Parks Department. He grew up in a small town, but he moved to the city and bought his first car: a big bad-ass Bronco monster truck and lives in an apartment. He moved out of his aunt and uncle’s home when he was 18. Dennis was raised by his aunt and uncle because his mother is a drug addict and alcoholic, so naturally she wasn’t around for his childhood. As an adult, he has come to terms with the way she is, and he accepts her in his life. He doesn’t know who his biological father is, but he calls his stepfather “Dad” because he is the only dad Dennis has ever known. His stepfather is also an alcoholic with a history of violence and, while drunk, beat Dennis a couple of times during his high school years. Dennis has three stepbrothers and two stepsisters, and he has never seen their dad hit any of them. Dennis met Jessica when his second-oldest brother (who is 22) introduced them four months ago. They hit it off and have been together ever since.
Jessica HarwellJessica is also 21, but she is 5’8 1/2, weighing about 175 lbs. Jessica has long blonde hair and blue eyes. She has been with a number of guys and enjoys “playing the field” with several at once. She is unemployed, living with a friend. She was born and raised in the city. Her father is a banker, and her mother was a domestic engineer with a passion for astronomy. Jessica has one older sister, so she is the baby of the family, and as such, has been spoiled royally. She is not used to working or difficulty. Anything she wants, she mentions to her parents and is hers within the week. Anytime anyone disagrees, she throws a temper tantrum (even at the ages of 13 and up) and the person she is arguing with gives in. She is not used to hearing “no” and expects everyone to cater to her wishes. A manipulative spoiled brat, Jessica also knows how to turn on the charm and the tears when she needs to. A friend introduced her to an older guy, who in turn introduced her to his brother, Dennis, who was the most interesting guy she had ever met (at that time). He was really cute, too, and she decided to give him a chance. Once they got together, all of her old ways flew out the window. Jessica realized she didn’t want to be with anyone else, until she went to New Jersey for a week with her best (and single) friend.
