It was 6:00 in the morning when my alarm was going off. I turned over to shut it off and got out of bed. My best friend and me were starting our new job today and oh boy are my hours long. I went to the room next to mine and woke her up.

“babe it’s 6:00 you need to get up remember we have to walk today.”

Kacie let out a growl and threw the blankets on the floor. She slipped her house slippers on and walked to the bathroom and shut the door.

I was still in my room getting dressed for the day. It was in the beginning of summer so it was already like 65 degrees outside, so I kinda figured it would get to about 80 to 85 today. I grabbed a pair of jeans shorts that came down to the beginning of my knees, and a black tank top.

I finally got done dressing myself and went to the bathroom to tell Kacie to hurry up because it was already 6:15 and it took about 15 minutes to get to work by foot. She yelled back over the water at me.

” geez Callie you sound like my mother! I’m almost done don’t worry okay!”

I shook my head and said fine and walked away.

As I waited for her to finish I grabbed my cellphone and called my fiance as I knew he was on break. He worked 3rd shift in ohio.

“hello?” He said as he answered his phone after 3 rings.

“Hi baby what took you so long to answer?” I asked as I was a little bit worried.

“I was in a machine babe, I’m sorry if I made you worry.” He said very sincere.

“It’s okay. I said to him. “I was just calling to let you know we were awake and getting ready to leave, so you didn’t have to worry if we were going to be on time for our first day or not.”

“Okay did you guys pack something for lunch and dinner, since I won’t see you at least until 8:30 tonight?” He asked me making sure I wouldn’t go hungry while I was at work.

I smiled as I said, “yes baby I packed lunch for both of us and dinner for me, thanks for checking and caring so much, that’s why I love you so.”

He chuckled and said, “okay baby I love you and I will see you when you get home tonight. If you call and I don’t answer I am probably asleep so don’t worry”.

“Okay baby see you when I get home, love you bye.” And we hung up.

Finally at 6:30 Kacie came out of the bathroom as she was brushing her hair. Now Kacie isn’t your normal girly girl, she is far from it to the basketball shorts to the 2xs bigger tshirts, and skater shoes.
